First Time Here?

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Annetta Nesler.  My calling... to write and create great music for you to enjoy!

I am an independent musician, which means that I am free to give you exacty what you desire from my music.

I create music that is as real as possible.  Meaning, with as little synthesizers and electronic instruments.  With the exception of a few sounds, all of the instruments you hear or see are real instruments played by your truly.

Because I play many different instruments such as the guitar, celtic harp, banjo, lap dulcimer, hammer dulcimer and many more, I am able to give you music that is rich in layers and has strong melodies.

Thus far I have no CD's for sale, yet! I hoping in Sept to be coming out with my first CD, but until then please check out my Get Connected page to link up with my Youtube videos and Facebook page.

Experiences:
Sadly, living in a small town like Janesville WI makes experiences hard to come by, but here are a few worth mentioning:

I have played at many different venues such as fairs, open mics, coffee shops, and weddings.

All of my recording is done at home and has come from reading some amazing books (See my resource page on this, which will be up soon).

I believe that it is not the education you buy, but the things you learn that matter, which is why I have not yet gone to college and I am proud of that fact.

Currently my age is twenty-one and I haven't yet bought a drink, but stick mostly to water and tea.

I have experienced many different health problems over the years, and I have experienced depression, fear, and the love of my Savior.

I am Gluten and Dairy Free and am hoping to have a few blogs about my experiences with that, but thus far, I haven't been able to get around to it yet.

I know These are not a lot of experiences, but I am young and excited about sharing my journey with you!

But enough about me.

Bio

When I was a child, I remember thinking,

"I will never be able to write a biography about myself.  My life is so boring"

Oh, how wrong I was.

Photo taken at my graduation. From left to right... Mom (Kathy), Dad (Tom), Me, and my sister (Havalyn).

I grew up in a little house just outside of Beloit, WI, surrounded by woods and countryside.  I only have one sibling, a sister, who is seven years older than I am.  This age gap was a blessing and a curse.  Because she was older, I was exposed to an older world, and, because we were both home-schooled our whole lives, my world and her world weren't separated very much.  It caused me to mature faster in order to interact with her, but I also became more aware of who I could be, than who I was, which made unsatisfied with what I had.

This wasn't the only thing that forced me to mature quickly.

My Mom and Dad are both wonderful Christians who have brought up both my sister and I in a firm knowledge of Jesus Christ and what He has done for us.  When I was seven years old my Mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  This made life hard and continues to be a huge factor in my family.  I am currently a caregiver for my Mom as well as a musician.  It's not exactly what I had planned, but it is actually a blessing in disguise.

I also have dealt with health problems ever since I can remember.  When I was 14, I found out that I have a problem with gluten and dairy.  Also, within the last year and a half I have been dealing with some other digestive issues.

Because of all these factors, I have gone through more than the usual twenty year old has.  I have spent a lot of time just looking out the window because I am in too much pain or too weak to do anything else.  But there is a hidden treasure in all this.  I have had to face a lot of questions and doubts that most avoid.  God has taught me lessons, valuable lessons, that were always bringing me closer to Himself.

It wasn't easy.  I know what it is like to be so depressed that it feels like your heart has been gutted out.  Fear has been a temptation of mine ever since I was young, but, day by day, Jesus is making me into a better person and a better follower of Him.

My music has definitely evolved over time.  It all started when I found a small guitar in my parents closest and has expanded to over six different instruments.  Music and poetry is one of the many ways I express myself; a gift that I never take for granted...

But even this is only a small bit of my life.  God willing, I have much more yet to live that will be added to this page in time...
